The Gulf Stream touches the edge of the Sargasso. It is recognized by its deep blue color and by the seaweed and other non-biodegradable junk that floats at its top.

The Town of Lewiston Recreation Department reports it is now taking applications for rentals at the Lewiston Family Ice Rink for December and January of this winter. "Days available are very limited. Rentals can be used for any type of party or approved ice activity, including birthday parties," said Mike Dashineau, town parks and recreation director.

Saturday, Oct. 26, was the last run of the Marble Orchard Ghost Walk until next fall. The Lewiston Ghost Walk, also known as The Marble Orchard Ghost Walk, is put on every year by The Lewiston Council on the Arts. The walk ran every Saturday night in September and October this fall thanks to a volunteer cast, whose members, of course, dress in character as townspeople from the 1800s.

On May 5, Samantha Elliott, while working the overnight shift as a night auditor at the Renaissance Del Monte Lodge Hotel & Spa in Pittsford, responded to the room of a guest who had suffered an apparent heart attack. Upon her arrival, she took immediate and lifesaving actions by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation, until she was relieved by responding personnel.
