Porter Town Board members talked recycling containers and debated lending a generator in an active session Monday, that also saw the holding of three public hearings.
The board was updated on a state Department of Environmental Conservation recycling grant application from town grant writer Bernie Rotella. It also heard concerns by East Avenue resident Ernie Lavigueur on keeping residents apprised regarding any changes to the recycling program.

Kiwanis Club of Lewiston President Jerry Mosey announced this week that Kiwanis member Dean Beltrano has been named the general chairman for the 55th annual Niagara County Peach Festival. The three-day festival takes place Sept. 7-9 in Academy Park in the Village of Lewiston.

First Presbyterian Church's VBS ran from July 16 to 20. Several girls worked on making stuffed turtles as their mission project. These turtles were donated to Mount St. Mary's to be given to young children who are there for surgeries.
