The Rotary Club of Niagara County Central will again offer $1,000 scholarships to students from the Niagara-Wheatfield, Starpoint and Wilson school districts. Students who reside in these school districts and attend a New York state accredited high school may apply for the scholarship.

The art department of the Lewiston-Porter Central School District presents its annual exhibition, "Growth Through Art," at the Niagara Arts and Cultural Center, 1201 Pine Ave. The show consists of artwork made in every grade level from kindergarten through grade 12. The opening reception is Saturday, March 24, between noon and 2 p.m.

Mary Ann Shank of Full Circle Quarter Horses on Cain Road in Town of Porter is shown with her newborn colt Tattle Tails and its mother Trio. Tattle Tails, who was bred and is being raised here to be a future hunter under saddle, was sired by world champion Coats 'n Tails. He is one of two spring babies expected at the Shank stables.

To celebrate their 25th high school reunion, members of the Lewiston-Porter Class of 1987 are throwing a "Spirit of the '80s" reunion Aug. 10 and 11. The party will take place at The Brickyard Pub & B.B.Q and at Academy Park. Four bands will perform that weekend, including headline act The Spoons.

The racing season is just eight short weeks away for Ransomville Speedway, which will celebrate its 55th season of operation. The Friesen family will enter their 40th as track operators at the famed one-half Niagara County oval.
