Organizers are anticipating huge crowds for the upcoming "First Niagara presents Tuesday in the Park" concerts with Lynyrd Skynyrd (July 26) and ZZ Top (Aug. 2), and will thus suspend the free children's art activities that are normally held during the free outdoor concert series.

On Saturday, July 30, at 1 p.m., Old Fort Niagara will sponsor a free public lecture by Richard V. Barbuto, deputy director of the Department of Military History at the United States Army Command and Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Ka. Barbuto will discuss the history of the Third United States Artillery Regiment, a unit that served at the Battle of Queenston Heights, Fort Niagara, Fort George and Fort Erie.

On Saturday, Sept. 17, the Village of Lewiston Recreation Department is sponsoring a community yard sale on the grounds of the Lewiston Red Brick School, 145 N. Fourth St. The recreation staff is offering 10-foot-by-10-foot spaces for $12 for the community to sell unneeded items.

Ransomville Manor residents and employees worked hand in hand with local Boy Scout Dylan Gagnon to complete his Eagle Scout Community Service Project. Although Dylan has only worked at Ransomville Manor for a short time, he and his fellow Scouts made a big and lasting impression at the assisted living facility.

This summer, the Youngstown Free Library has teamed up with the Porter Recreation Department to present story hour in Falkner Park each Wednesday at 1 p.m. (through Aug. 24). The NIOGA Library System's traveling storytellers present stories on vehicles and transportation, legends and folktales, and dress up, all with a "One World Many Stories" summer theme on July 20, Aug. 3 and 17.

Assemblyman John Ceretto, R-I-Lewiston, today announced that he signed on as a co-sponsor of "Caylee's Law" in the New York State Assembly. This legislation would make it a felony for a parent or guardian to fail to notify law enforcement of the disappearance of their child within a timely manner.

Niagara River Lodge No. 785, of F. and A. Masons, is sponsoring a free Safety ID booth at the Sanborn Volunteer Fire Co. firehouse during the Olde Sanborn Days. The Village of Lewiston received new drawings Tuesday from the principals behind the Frontier House on Center Street. Attorney John Bartolomei, E.I. Team President Hormoz Mansouri and developer Richard Hastings seek to refurbish the historic Center Street building and construct a new, four-story building over what is now the Frontier House parking lot. The drawings, which were left for the Planning Board to review prior to its Monday meeting, indicate the following:
