Lewiston Kiwanis advance rides chairman Nick Morreale announces advance ride tickets for this year's Peach Festival, Sept 10, 11 and 12 at Academy Park in Lewiston, are now available. Cost is $20 for a strip of 14 tickets. Each ticket is good for one ride on midway rides operated at the festival this year by North American Midway Co.

The Lewiston-Porter Board of Education accepted Superintendent Christopher Roser's recommendations for the 2010-11 tax warrant, which included a slight tax levy increase for Lewiston and a reduced levy for Porter. The board appropriated $1.8 million to be kept in the fund balance, the same as last year.

A Town of Porter family received a rude awakening Wednesday morning, as a Newfane man recently paroled after serving time for robbery, forced his way into their home at 1058 Youngstown-Lockport Road.
