The Firemen's Association of the State of New York, New York State Association of Fire Chiefs and the Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York have started an all out effort to register thousands of fire service members in time for them to be eligible to vote in the general election on Nov. 2, utilizing a new website www.firefightersvote.com.

The New York Power Authority's Niagara Power Project is hosting the 25th anniversary of its Wildlife Festival in cooperation with the Niagara County Federation of Conservation Clubs on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 25 and 26, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission and parking are free and the show will go on rain or shine. A variety of food will be available from a selection of local youth groups' concessions.

The cool fall weather is once again here and should signal our suburban and country residents that they will soon hear the sound of target practice gunfire, usually on weekend or weekday evenings.
