It has been a particularly good first year! We have all had a learning curve at the town, getting used to some new and different ways of doing things, but everyone has adapted well and, together, we have worked out many issues, celebrated successes, learned new things, made a few mistakes, and had our up and down days.

A recent survey by Wegmans revealed that, this holiday season, customers want to prioritize their traditional holiday recipes (77%), while also finding ways to keep holiday meals simple and easy, and/or opportunities to simplify entertaining (78%).

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Gregory Noonan, age 25, of Niagara Falls, plead guilty in County Court to two counts of attempted rape in the first degree. Noonan had been indicted with charges of sexually assaulting two different victims in Niagara Falls in 2021 and 2022.

Local charity Totally Buffalo Cares is bringing some Christmas joy to elementary school kids in Niagara Falls this week. As part of its "Make a Case for Kids" campaign, the charity will be handing out gifts, hats and gloves to four local elementary schools in the Cataract City along with the help of Santa and his elves.

The Riviera Theatre and several local restaurants are teaming up to help support Twin Cities Community Outreach (TCCO), home of the NT InterChurch Food pantry, with a special event on Wednesday, Dec. 11, according to Niagara County legislators Rich Andres, Randy Bradt and Jesse Gooch, who are spearheading the effort. New York Power Authority fishing facilities, including the fishing pier, shoreline stairway and lower parking area at the base of the New York Power Authority's Robert Moses Niagara Power Plant, will close for the season at dusk Sunday, Dec. 1. The fishing pier near the Upper Mountain Fire Co., at the Lewiston Reservoir, at the water intakes along the upper Niagara River, will also close for the season.
