Empire State Development (ESD) announced the completion of 110 Sweeney Street, a new mixed-use development on the waterfront in the City of North Tonawanda. The project consists of a new, two-story 21,000-square-feet building that includes 15 residential units, two commercials spaces, and a newly opened ground-floor restaurant, District 37 Kitchen and Tap House.

Niagara County District Attorney Brian D. Seaman announced Martice D. Porter, age 22, of Niagara Falls, plead guilty in County Court to the crime of rape in the third degree. Porter admitted to having sexual intercourse with an underage female in 2023.

On Aug. 5, at approximately 1:20 a.m., Niagara Falls Police received a call of an injured woman in the roadway at 22nd Street and Niagara Avenue. Responding officers discovered a 50-year-old Niagara Falls woman with life-threatening injuries. It appears she was operating an e-bike when she was struck by a vehicle that left the scene of the crash.

The Child Advocacy Center of Niagara (CAC of Niagara), a service of Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center (NFMMC), announced its participation in this year's OneTooMany Virtual 5K, a fundraising event organized by the New York State Children's Alliance to support child advocacy centers across the state.
