Old Fort Niagara brims with holiday merriment, festive songs, creative crafts and booming celebrations at the annual "Castle by Candlelight," happening from 6:30-8:15 p.m. Saturdays, Dec. 8 and 15. This annual fundraiser allows visitors to step back in time and enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of the Christmas season within the candlelit-setting of the 18th century fort.

Wheatfield Lions Mike and Joyce Aiken assisted the Olcott Lion's Club (site of the famous annual Polar Bear Swim) in their annual dice run. As a result of their participation, the Wheatfield Lions Club received a portion of the proceeds to be used to alleviate hunger in Niagara County.

The 2017-18 Niagara-Wheatfield hockey season can really be summed up in one word - historic.
The Falcons finished the season 19-3-3-1, won the program's sixth Section VI title, and reached the team's first-ever state title game.
Coming into the 2018-19 season, the team has some holes to fill after losing key scorers such as Nick Peters, Chace Woods, Michael Lotempio, Chris Tobey and Dom Pulli, as well as top defensemen Zack Belter and Nick Breier.

Randazzo Memorial Scholarship from the Buffalo Niagara chapter of the Public Relations Society of America. In the spirit of "Giving Tuesday," the Food Bank of WNY announced the expansion of its direct delivery program and unveiled its new 26-foot refrigerated truck today in order to better serve its 41 Niagara County member agencies - and distribute more food to people in need throughout the community. With the launch of direct delivery in Niagara County, the Food Bank will now provide direct delivery services to all of its 317 agencies throughout its four-county service area.

Applications are now available for the 53rd annual Lewiston Art Festival, which will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, and Sunday, Aug. 11, 20I9, on Center Street in the Village of Lewiston. More than 175 professional artists will display and sell their work and compete for $5,000 in prizes in the juried show. The application deadline is April 1.
