The Jack Beatty Memorial Hospice Cruise and Clambake, held on July 13, continued its tradition of entertainment, food and leisurely sailing or power-boating up the Niagara River, all to benefit Niagara Hospice. The event, celebrating its 19th year, raised $34,823.

More and more, drivers are recognizing the value in having vehicles with advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) like blind spot monitoring systems, forward collision warning and lane keeping assist. However, while many of these technologies are rapidly being offered as standard, many drivers are unaware of the safety limitations of ADAS in their vehicles, according to new research from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety.

In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Mount St. Mary's Hospital hosted a free mammography screening on Saturday at the hospital located at 5300 Military Road in Lewiston. The tests were courtesy of the "Play Fore Pink" golf event at the Niagara Falls Country Club and radiologist Dr. Timothy Dyster.

New York drivers need to buck up this fall and watch for deer. AAA analyzed New York crash data and found that October, November and December are by far the peak months for deer crashes in the Empire State. From October to December 2016, there were 9,720 deer crashes across the state - equivalent to one deer crash every 15 minutes.

Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper on Thursday announced $3 million has been awarded to support the organization's mission and efforts to physically improve waterfront access for the residents and visitors to the City of Buffalo and Western New York.
