A Tuscarora Heroes Remembrance will be held on the 202nd anniversary of the War of 1812 British attack on Lewiston at 8 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Tuscarora Heroes Monument at Portage Road and Center Street in Lewiston.

Arts Services Initiative of Western New York (ASI) announced the recipients of the 2015 "Give for Greatness" grants. Thirty grants providing general operating support in the amount of $1,000 each were awarded to cultural organizations across ASI's entire five-county service area thanks to several fundraising initiatives throughout the year.

Consumer Credit Counseling Service and the Niagara County Financial Literacy Coalition announced they are seeking 15-20 volunteers to register by Dec. 8 to help prepare taxes at free tax prep sites. Volunteers will undergo training this month and ultimately provide tax preparation services in Niagara County in February and March.
