More than 80 sets of winter clothing items collected by Niagara University students were delivered Tuesday to Harry F. Abate Elementary School in Niagara Falls. The hats, gloves and scarves were collected by members of NU's Alpha Alpha Beta chapter of Kappa Delta Pi, the international honor society in education.

The Buffalo Sabres Foundation announced there will be a guaranteed pot of $50,000 for the 50/50 raffle at each of the Sabres' next two home games, when the Sabres host the Nashville Predators tonight and the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday. Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m.

State Sen. Rob Ortt announced three bills he introduced earlier this year have been signed into law. Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed legislation (S4523A) that prevents Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority funds from being diverted, while S5061A is in relation to the North Tonawanda Firemen's Benevolent Association, and S3638A relates to those with intellectual-developmental disabilities.
