Lewiston's own Chris Tybor of ChrisFit recently summited Mount Kilimanjaro as part of the "Climb for Alexa 2015" fundraiser for the It Happened to Alexa Foundation. Tybor was the only one in his group to make the summit.

The Village of Lewiston Board of Trustees unanimously approved a motion Monday to add an additional designation to Columbus Day. Starting this year, the second October Monday will be known as "Indigenous Peoples Day" to honor the local Native American community.

Dark skies and rainy weather only added to the ambiance Saturday at Artpark as the venue hosted its first "Hay-Man Happening!" fall festival. Children (and some brave adults) dressed up in their scariest and most creative Halloween outfits, had their faces painted, listened to monster-mashing favorite songs and grabbed a bite from some food trucks.
