The North Tonawanda Common Council is speaking out against a resolution passed in the Niagara County Legislature Tuesday allowing the sale of sparklers and novelty fireworks in the weeks surrounding the Fourth of July and New Year's Day.

Beginning Monday, June 1, the North Tonawanda History Museum will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday (except July 3 to July 6) through Aug. 31. It will also be open Sunday, July 19, the first day of Canal Fest. The rest of the year, the history museum is open Tuesdays through Saturdays.
