Tickets are now available for "Polar Bites 2015," a fundraising event benefitting the Buffalo Zoo. The popular wintertime event, presented by the Pro Zoo board, will take place from 6-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, at the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center.
Tickets also will be available for purchase at the "Polar Bites" pre-party taking place Thursday, Sept. 25.

The New York State Department of Transportation announced Thursday travel restrictions are scheduled to go in effect on Route 384 (Buffalo Avenue), and Interstate 190, in the City of Niagara Falls, to allow for the continuing construction of new bridges carrying the I-190 over Buffalo Avenue.

Niagara Falls International Airport has two new charging stations for airport traveler use, as part of a statewide network of up to 3,000 EV charging stations slated for public and workplace locations across New York by 2018. Last week, Better Business Bureau serving Upstate New York warned school districts to be on the lookout for fake invoices from Scholastic School Supply. This week, 10 districts, mainly located in the Southern Tier, told BBB they did receive the invoices. BBB advises all school districts to review all invoices carefully and verify before payments are made.

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo announced an additional $55 million in funding for five innovative economic development projects as part of the third round of the competitive NYSUNY 2020 Challenge Grant Program. One of those projects belonged to Erie Community College, which secured $5.75 million in grant funding for its planned Bretschger Building renovation/AAS nanotechnology degree program at college's North Campus in Williamsville.
"On behalf of the faculty, staff and students of ECC, I'd like to thank Gov. Cuomo, Chancellor Zimpher and leaders of the NYSUNY 2020 Challenge Grant Program," said ECC President Jack Quinn.

The Empire State Development board of directors met in New York City and approved $4 million in funding for seven projects that are spurring economic growth and opportunity in New York. The NFL's finance committee voted Wednesday to approve the sale of the Buffalo Bills to Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula and his wife, and Kim.
WGRZ reported the $1.4 billion sale must be approved by a majority of NFL owners. They can vote accordingly when they meet Oct. 8 in New York.

The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corp. and the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation have released a request for proposals to identify an operator for the 1,037-slip boat marina and ancillary services at Buffalo Harbor State Park.
The RFP calls for an experienced marina operator to operate, maintain and improve facilities that include the marina, a restaurant building, parking spaces and several smaller buildings. The deadline to submit a proposal is Friday, Oct. 29. The lease would begin prior to the start of the 2015 boating season.
