Former Niagara County Legislature Chairwoman Rebecca J. "Becky" Wydysh announced Thursday that she is running for the New York State Assembly in the 145th District. Wydysh's announcement comes the day after current Assemblyman Angelo Morinello announced he will not seek reelection in 2026.

Starting Feb. 1, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will begin enforcing a $45 identity-verification fee for passengers who attempt to fly without compliant identification. All travelers who do not present an acceptable form of a REAL ID, U.S. passport, or other accepted ID will be directed to TSA's optional ConfirmID identity-verification process at check-in, before entering the security screening line.
