Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center has been awarded a $500,000, three-year grant from the New York State Office of Mental Health to operate a "Get Well/Stay Well" program to serve seniors residing in the Niagara community. The project will be operated in collaboration with The Dale Association, a well-known provider of mental health and elderly services in Niagara County.

New York State Sen. George Maziarz will present a free Niagara County business fair Wednesday, Nov. 20, from 7-9 p.m. at the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute, 28 Old Falls St. Attendance is free and check-in begins at 6:45 p.m.

The event, co-sponsored by Maziarz, the Niagara County Community College Small Business Development Center and the Niagara USA Chamber, brings together numerous business resources, including local business associations, economic development partners and other local business owners.

Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula today announced Pat LaFontaine has been hired to serve as president of hockey operations for the team. Pegula also announced Darcy Regier and Ron Rolston have been relieved of their respective duties. Ted Nolan has been hired as the team's interim head coach and the Sabres have retained the remainder of the coaching staff.
'Mary Poppins' flying into Artpark next summer

Everyone's favorite nanny is flying into town next summer. Artpark has announced its production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh's "Mary Poppins" is slated for July 31- Aug. 8, 2014. Eight performances will take place in the Mainstage Theater.

At a press conference this morning at the First Niagara Center, Buffalo Sabres owner Terry Pegula announced general manager Darcy Reiger and coach Ron Rolston have been fired. Former Sabres star Pat LaFontaine has been brought on as president of hockey operations. He, in turn, has brought back former coach Ted Nolan to serve as interim coach.
