An independent report from the New York Public Interest Research Group shows State Sen. Mark Grisanti, R-I-60, was one of the Empire State's busiest and most effective lawmakers. The recently released study of legislation that passed this session in both the New York State Senate and State Assembly showed Grisanti had 20 bills pass both houses - more then any local member of the Assembly and Senate.

The Buffalo Sabres selected a league-high 11 prospects, including seven forwards, three defensemen and a goaltender, at the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, which was held Sunday at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. Buffalo also traded defenseman Andrej Sekera to the Carolina Hurricanes in exchange for defenseman Jamie McBain and a second-round pick (35th overall) in this year's draft.

Assemblyman John Ceretto met Wednesday with Gov. Andrew Cuomo to finalize an agreement to end the dispute surrounding the Peace Bridge. As a result, significant economic improvements to the Peace Bridge on the American side will be made and the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority will not be dissolved. The agreement will be ratified on Friday.
