Calling all Lewiston residents with a green thumb: The Lewiston GardenFest is looking for interested homeowners who are willing to showcase their private gardens during this year's annual event, to be held Saturday, June 22, and Sunday, June 23.

Residents do not need to showcase their entire yard, but instead can choose a section they wish to highlight.

Grisanti, Ryan announce legislation to dissolve Public Bridge Authority

New York State Sen. Mark Grisanti, R-I-Buffalo, and New York State Assemblyman Sean Ryan, D-WF-Buffalo, announced they will be introducing bipartisan legislation to dissolve the Buffalo and Fort Erie Public Bridge Authority - the PBA. Under current state law, if the authority is dissolved, management of the Peace Bridge will transfer over to the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority.

Farmers Market returning to Wheatfield

With spring finally seeming to warm up, plans are in the works to reopen Wheatfield's Farmers Market.

At Monday's Town Board meeting, the board approved moving the market to the front of Town Hall, instead of the rear parking area between the Community Center and Youth Center. Town Attorney Bob O'Toole said the market's vendors expressed strong preference for the new location that will be immediately visible to those approaching Town Hall at 2800 Church Road. Parking will remain in the rear of Town Hall. The change, for safety reasons, must be approved by the St. Johnsburg Volunteer Fire Co.

O'Toole said an opening day for the market has yet to be set.
