The two-day air show Thunder Over Niagara culminated on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York City, Washington, D.C., and in the skies over Pennsylvania. The show was both a tribute to this nation's military and first responders as well as a solemn remembrance to the victims of that terrible day.

George Maziarz today urged Gov. Andrew Cuomo to sign the bill into law and offered 10 reasons why the bill is good for Western New York.

The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency board of directors today accepted an application for assistance from Shipman Properties LLC. The holding company of Shipman Print Solutions plans to relocate the 105-year-old printing company to a long-standing vacant building at 6120 Lendell Road, in the Town of Wheatfield. Extensive renovations and upgrades are needed to covert the building into a fully functioning printing operation. The expected total cost of the project is $764,000.

When my friend Kate invited me on a trip to Pamplona for the San Fermin Festival (or "Running of the Bulls," as we refer to it), with her brother, Patrick, and his girlfriend, Leyla, I couldn't pack my white clothes and red scarf fast enough! In preparation for the trip I hopped on Amazon.com and bought all the Pamplona books I could find (a grand total of three). Each described the all-night parties, the all-white attire, and bacchanalian nature of the festival, but none prepared me (and us) for the realities of Pamplona.

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation opened a more than 90-day public comment period on its revised draft Supplemental Generic Environmental Impact Statement, DEC Commissioner Joe Martens announced Sept. 7. In addition, the agency will issue its proposed regulations governing high-volume hydraulic fracturing in early October.
