Barbara Walters ended months of rumors and speculation this morning with her announcement that, after 17 appearances on ABC's "The View," eight as a guest co-host, Jenny McCarthy will join the popular talk show as a co-host this fall. George Osborne, president of the performing arts venue, dedicated the eight-show run to Brother Augustine Towey, C.M., the visionary leader of Western New York's theater community who passed away last Thanksgiving.

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo has announced that, through the Buffalo Billion initiative, a new post-production, visual effects and animation company will be established at the landmark Tri-Main Center in Buffalo. Empire Visual Effects, which will partner with Daemen College, has pledged to create 150 new visual effects and other post-production jobs within five years - jobs that will pave the way for the creation of a new post-production and visual effects industry in Western New York.

"Saturdays on Old Falls Street," a two-week concert series, is coming to Old Falls Street, USA. The show on Saturday, July 20, features the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Then, on Saturday, July 27, the 10,000 Maniacs headline. Each show is free and open to the public and will be held from 5 to 10 p.m.
The BPO performance features the music of John Williams, Oscar- and Grammy-winning composer of "Superman," "Raiders of the Lost Ark," "E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial," "Star Wars," "Harry Potter" and many other notable Hollywood movies.

The Buffalo Sabres will hold their annual summer development camp from July 10-12 at First Niagara Center. This will mark the second year in a row the ice will be installed during the summer and the development camp will be held at the home of the Sabres. Camp will conclude with "Sabres Summer Fan Fest," a day of hockey-themed entertainment on Buffalo's waterfront, on July 12, beginning at 3 p.m.

CBS and Netflix have announced an extension of its multiyear licensing agreement for select CBS library content streamed instantly to Netflix customers. Under the revised deal, new titles such as "L.A. Complex," "4400" and "CSI: NY" will be available to Netflix subscribers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
