The NBC Sports Group's coverage of the third iteration of "Hockey Day in America" this past Sunday scored with viewers as the second game of its doubleheader on NBC was up 31 percent compared to last season, while NBC Sports Network's evening game was up 200 percent vs. a comparable 2012 game.

Buffalo Sabres General Manager Darcy Regier announced late Wednesday afternoon that Lindy Ruff was relieved of his duties as head coach of the Buffalo Sabres. Regier also announced that Ron Rolston will serve as the interim head coach of the Sabres, beginning with the team's game against Toronto on Thursday, and continuing through the remainder of the season.

In an all-new episode of "Switched at Birth" told entirely in American Sign Language, the students at Carlton School for the Deaf protest to keep their school open.
