Bravo's 'Top Chef: Texas' premieres Nov. 2

It's a whole new ballgame for the competing chefs on Bravo's "Top Chef: Texas," premiering Wednesday, Nov. 2 at 10 p.m. ET/PT. For the first-time ever, season nine will boast a record 29 chefs - almost double the amount of chefs in season's past - who will see if they have what it takes to become an official chef'testant and qualify to wear the "Top Chef" coat.

FOX orders 'Touch'

FOX has ordered 13 episodes of the new drama series "Touch," created and written by Emmy-nominated Tim Kring ("Heroes"), it was announced this week by Kevin Reilly, president of entertainment for Fox Broadcasting Company. "Touch," starring Emmy and Golden Globe winner Kiefer Sutherland, will join the schedule in the spring of 2012. The pilot was directed and executive-produced by Francis Lawrence ("Water for Elephants"), and the show comes from Chernin Entertainment and Tailwind Productions, in association with 20th Century Fox Television.

There was a familiar face on the opening of Season 3 of NBC's show "The Sing-Off" on Monday night. Michael Pittman, a 2009 Niagara-Wheatfield graduate, is now a junior at the University of Rochester and a member of it's a cappella group the YellowJackets. The group opened the show, and was not one of the two groups voted off, so local fans can catch them (and Michael) again on the Oct. 3 show. The Sept. 26 show features the second half of the competitors.

NBC News announces Meredith Vieira has been named to a new role as special correspondent for "Rock Center with Brian Williams," the new primetime newsmagazine led by Brian Williams. She will contribute her signature reporting for the broadcast, as well as report for "Today," "NBC Nightly News" and other NBC News programs. Vieira will additionally contribute to special network programming, including the 2012 London Olympic Games.

NBC announced today that Emmy-nominated talk show "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" will pack up and travel to the Midwest for sports' biggest event of the year, Super Bowl XLVI. In its regular 12:35 a.m. time slot, "Late Night" will air from Indianapolis Wednesday, Feb. 1, Thursday, Feb. 2, and Friday, Feb. 3, 2012.

Last night's 'NFL Kickoff' was the second-most watched NFL regular season primetime game on any one network in 15 years. The Saints-Packers NFL season opener on NBC was also the second most-watched "NFL Kickoff" ever, the second most-watched regular-season primetime game ever on NBC and the highest adult 18-49 rating for a primetime NFL regular-season game on any net in 14 years, according to official national data released today by The Nielsen Company.

The Miss America Organization and ABC announce Chris Harrison will host the "2012 Miss America Pageant" live telecast from the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 (9-11 p.m., ET), on ABC. Harrison was co-host of ABC's live telecast of the 2011 Miss America Pageant with Brooke Burke. The 2011 pageant drew ABC's biggest non-sports audience in the timeslot since April 2009, reaching 14.6 million viewers nationwide. He first hosted the iconic broadcast on ABC in 2004.
