Higgins demanding extension of census reporting deadlines

The New York State Department of Taxation and Finance announced the Free File program experienced a 57% increase in use this tax filing season. Over a quarter-million taxpayers took advantage of the free tax preparation and filing software available through the Tax Department website, saving New Yorkers more than an estimated $51 million in tax preparer and tax software expenses.

Calspan acquires Aero Systems Engineering

Calspan Technology Holding Corp., the parent company to a group of entities including Buffalo-based aerospace and automotive research company Calspan Corp., announced the acquisition of Aero Systems Engineering Inc. (ASE) in St. Paul, Minnesota. The transaction was effective July 24. The new company will operate as Calspan Aero Systems Engineering Inc. (Calspan ASE).
