In response to New York state implementing the Driver's License Access and Privacy Act (Green Light Law), Acting Secretary Chad F. Wolf announced New York residents will no longer be eligible to apply for or renew their enrollment in certain Trusted Traveler Programs like Global Entry.

This means working to delay smoking or vaping, and eventually becoming tobacco-free. Coaches at the Quitline can help all ages with treating nicotine dependence, seven days a week, for no charge.

Niagara Hospice has received a $30,000 grant from the Odd Fellow & Rebekah Benefit Fund in Lockport to advance its dementia care expertise for patients, families and caregivers across Niagara County. The grant will enable hospice staff to achieve dementia care practitioner certifications and pursue continuing educational opportunities to enhance the clinical knowledge of managing care for this growing population.

At 10:33 p.m. Saturday, Lewiston Fire Co. No. 1 was dispatched to the Woods at Blairville apartment complex in the 800 block of Oriole Lane for a reported structure fire. Crews were faced with heavy fire in two apartments upon arrival and immediately deployed to begin knocking back the flames as additional crews entered to search for anyone still inside.
