Niagara Falls Mayor Robert Restaino announced S&P Global raised Niagara Falls' bond rating from BBB+ to A. The global ratings agency also reported the city's financial outlook is "positive." An A bond rating signifies the bond issuer has a strong capacity to meet its financial obligations.

Kathy Hochul today directed that flags on all state government buildings be flown at half-staff in honor of NYPD officer Didarul Islam and the victims of the July 28 shooting at an office building in Midtown Manhattan. Flags were lowered to half-staff at sunrise today and will remain lowered until all of the victims are laid to rest.
