Congressman Brian Higgins announced $1 million in federal funding awarded to the Buffalo AKG Art Museum. Secured by Higgins in the fiscal year 2022 budget, this community project funding supports construction of the great lawn, inviting visitors onto the campus and better connecting the museum to the neighborhoods, parks and community around it.

Bringing his knowledge and experience in the theater, along with strong leadership and management skills, Bill Patti was selected as the next executive director of the Kenan Center. Patti officially began his duties on March 13, taking the time to learn about the operations of the nonprofit, meeting with staff and transitioning with Susan Przybyl, the former executive director who retired on March 31 after almost 25 years.

Reddy Bikeshare, in partnership with Independent Health, kicks off its eighth season of providing affordable access to bikes by announcing an expanded footprint into state parks along the Niagara River. Beginning this spring, Reddy will add seven new stations at Whirlpool, Devil's Hole, DeVeaux Woods and Niagara Falls state parks.

This year's Bruce Sutherland Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Monday, May 15, at the Niagara Frontier Golf Club at 1058 Lake Road in Youngstown. The tournament is open to the public. Funds raised will go to the Historical Association and the Lewiston Museum, in addition to the VFW Downriver Post 7487 scholarship fund - two local causes Sutherland volunteered and worked for in the past.
