The United Way of Greater Niagara held its "Day of Caring" on Wednesday. As part of the initiative, volunteers worked at the Casey House, located on 710 Cedar Ave., Niagara Falls.

Following a meeting of the corporation's board of directors, Seneca Gaming Corp. announced Thursday that Holly Gagnon was named the company's new president and CEO. Gagnon, who was selected following a national search, is expected to begin in her new role in mid-June.

A Taste of Lewiston returned to Center Street after a decade hiatus, and drew consistently large crowds all day on Saturday. On the one rain-free day this week, local residents and visitors from across the country descended upon the village to sample items from more than a dozen restaurants, and sample goods from another dozen vendors.
