Kathy Hochul on Tuesday urged caution as a winter storm is forecast to impact upstate regions beginning Wednesday afternoon, particularly in the North Country and parts of the Capital Region, Central New York, Finger Lakes, Mohawk Valley and Western New York, where snow or sleet is expected to slowly spread from the New York/Pennsylvania border northeast and reach parts of the North Country by Wednesday night.

Ammonia. Formaldehyde. Arsenic. When wrapped inside a menthol cigarette, fumes from these and other deadly chemicals become more palatable to inhale. Approximately 1.7 million New York state residents still smoke, and flavored tobacco products such as menthol cigarettes make it easier to become addicted and harder to quit.

Wegmans announced it is now accepting Electronic Benefits Transfer and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (EBT SNAP) payments for online grocery orders made via www.wegmans.com and the Wegmans app. Customers who use EBT SNAP as their payment will receive free delivery for three orders.

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced 33-year-old Deyanna J. Davis of Buffalo pleaded guilty this afternoon before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case to one count of assault in the second degree (class "D" felony). The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge on the day jury selection was scheduled to begin in her trial.
