The Youngstown Lions Club invites all graduating high school seniors living within the Lewiston-Porter School District, including parochial and home-schooled seniors, to apply for one of its annually sponsored scholarships named in memory of former Youngstown Mayor Neil Riordan. Up to three recipients will be chosen this year to receive awards of $1,500 each.

The Bandana's Super Bowl Sunday chili cookoff to benefit the Youngstown Free Library was a huge success. Fifteen chilis were entered and 75 people paid $10 to sample the chilis and vote on their favorites. After everyone had their fill of chili, the votes were tabulated and the winners were:

Ceramic artist Junko McGee, Matthew SaGurney and Rob Lynch of Solo Roths, as well as artist and curator Dana Murray Tyrrell provided Lew-Port students with an inside perspective of their professional art-making practices through multiple artist workshops.
