On July 21, the New York State Department of Transportation will hold a public hearing at the Wheatfield Community Center (2790 Church Road) related to the improvements proposed by the DOT for a pair of "dangerous" intersections along Niagara Falls Boulevard at Ward and Witmer roads. The hearing will run from 4-6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Relay For Life is back after a one-year hiatus as a two-day event. From 3-7 p.m. Saturday, a hybrid Relay event will be held at the Fuccillo Toyota dealership parking lot. The traditional luminaria ceremony will be offered at 9:15 p.m. Sunday at Veterans Park. In addition to the luminaria ceremony, a newly installed memorial garden at Veterans Park will be dedicated to the late Mary Dunbar-Daluisio, who, for many years, served as co-chair of Relay For Life.

After 22 months apart, Artpark and a few thousand of its closest friends reunited this week for the first "Tuesdays in the Park" of 2021 - the first Tuesday concert since 2019 - heck, the first Tuesday gig since the pandemic shut the world down, shuttered concert venues and grounded tours. There were hugs, warm greetings and cold beverages, at the "reunion show" in Lewiston.

After five years of training and honing her abilities at the Fight-Sport Training Center, Town of Niagara's Mackenzie Musgrove was set to make her amateur kickboxing debut last year on May 9. Stuart Sports owner Curt Stuart recently canvassed his Ridge Street neighbors and found more than two-dozen are not in favor of the roadway's one-way traffic pattern. Some, he said, are even scared of motorists heading the wrong way down the street, or hitting a vehicle backing out of one of the parking lots.

On Wednesday, the Town of Niagara board held its first session at Town Hall (7105 Lockport Road) since St. Patrick's Day 2020. The facility had been closed during that time due to the pandemic.
