We've all watched "The Voice" on television and rooted for its singers. But few of us have had the opportunity to experience the show live.
Realizing this, the powers that be behind America's favorite singing competition have arranged it so that "The Voice" could come to "the venue" in each fan's backyard.

Jonathon Cote was a U.S. Army veteran from Western New York who was taken hostage, along with four others, while working as a private security contractor in Iraq on Nov. 16, 2006. He was held captive/missing for 523 days before his body was found and flown home to Buffalo on April 28, 2008.

Remember the old Starlite drive-in movie on Military Road? The Town of Niagara can't bring back the joys of sitting in or on the hood of your car to watch the latest movies in the summertime in what is now Wegmans Plaza. However, local residents can bring the family and spread a blanket or bring a lawn chair to Veterans Park on Lockport Road (across from Town Hall) this summer to watch outdoor movies on a giant screen.

The First Niagara Foundation and Habitat for Humanity will work together to build a new home at 118 Fox St., Buffalo. Employees of the bank will work at the house this month to help a local single mom and her children make their dream of home ownership a reality.
Habitat for Humanity ensures everyone has a decent place to live by providing affordable housing to families that might not otherwise be able to own a home. The houses are sold to pre-qualified families at no profit and with no interest charged while Habitat holds the mortgage.
The home on Fox Street is expected to be complete in late 2014. The First Niagara Foundation is providing $15,000 in funding for Habitat for Humanity to complete the project.

Wednesday night, after America's vote was revealed on "So You Think You Can Dance," Jourdan Epstein, Brooklyn Fullmer, Malene Ostergaard, Casey Askew, Nick Garcia and Serge Onik were the three girls and three guys who received the fewest votes. After deliberating, the judges - Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy and guest judge Misty Copeland - determined Ostergaard and Garcia would be sent home at the end of the show.

Tops Friendly Markets, a leading full-service grocery retailer in upstate New York, northern Pennsylvania and western Vermont, announced the company has entered into an agreement with Budwey's Market and, upon closing, will assume operation of the grocery store located at 2555 N. Main St., Newfane.
There are approximately 74 total employees at the Newfane location; each of whom has the option of applying for continued employment with Tops Markets.
