Old Falls Street, USA, will be the center of "Side Show" activities on June 15. From 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., day-long festivities will spotlight Nik Wallenda's historic tightrope walk over Niagara Falls, which will be shown on two outdoor jumbo screens. The "Side Show" features tightrope walks and aerial moves from Charm City Movement Arts (from Baltimore) and other circus-themed performances from members of Deep Roots Niagara throughout the day, a petting zoo, as well as live music, festive food and beverage concessions, and more than 20 local merchandise and food vendors.

Leaders from Niagara County and communities all along Lake Ontario's southern shore will turn out in force tonight in Olcott to protest an International Joint Commission/Corps of Engineers-backed plan that would increase erosion of the shoreline and have a $30 million negative impact on Niagara and Orleans counties at an event hosted by the IJC.

The Lewiston Peace Garden, located at 476 Center St., has definitely evolved over the years. Eva Nicklas from the Lewiston Council on the Arts explained how it began as a "funky gravel parking lot" and, after years of hard work, is now recognized as an International Peace Garden by the International Peace Garden Foundation.
"It's a beautiful green space that all of Lewiston is proud of," Nicklas said.
The Peace Garden contains a fountain, a stage, different kinds of flowering plants, and memory bricks throughout.
The garden has been host to various events over the years, including belly dancing, poetry readings, chainsaw artists, and fundraising events. But this summer will be different.
