At the request of various taxing jurisdictions, the Niagara County Industrial Development Agency board of directors approved an application for assistance from the bondholders of AES Somerset for a modification of a payment in lieu of taxes as well as a mortgage recording tax abatement.

Dominic J. Ceretto, 84, of Niagara Falls, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2012, at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport. Born in Niagara Falls, he was the son of the late John and Maria (Boetto) Ceretto Guerrucci and stepson of the late Adolph Guerrucci.

Assemblyman John Ceretto, R-I-Lewiston, praised Nik Wallenda on Tuesday, his final day of local training before his walk across the Niagara Falls gorge. Ceretto sponsored the legislation to allow Wallenda to traverse the Niagara Falls gorge.

The Lewiston Community Lions Club recently attended a fundraiser at the New Tuscarora Nation House for the family of Shoney Dubuc. Shoney, age 6, a burn victim, recently succumbed due to his injuries. The Lions made a donation at the event.
