Niagara Falls YMCA to host MS open house

The Niagara Falls Family YMCA will offer an open house for those suffering from multiple sclerosis on Saturday, March 24. This event, which will take place at the branch (located at 1317 Portage Road, Niagara Falls) from 10 a.m. to noon, is designed for those individuals with MS who are interested in learning of the benefits of health and wellness.

Graffiti suspect arrested

Erie County Sheriff Tim Howard has announced the arrest of the person allegedly responsible for an 18-month long graffiti spree on Grand Island in which both public and private buildings and properties were defaced totaling between $20,000 and $30,000 in damage.

Monday evening the Grand Island Board of Education continued the 2012-13 budget process. Superintendent Robert Christmann pushed the budget adoption date out one week from March 26 to April 2 because of possible changes in state aid.

Ceretto expands DNA data bank

Assemblyman John Ceretto, R-I-Lewiston, helped pass legislation Wednesday to expand the state's DNA data bank and make New York the first "all crimes DNA" state in the nation.
