Youngstown Free Library has drama club presentation

The Youngstown Free Library One World Many Stories Drama Club will present "A World of Stories" on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 7 p.m. in the Red Brick School Village Center gym. Library spokesperson Jan Gilgore reports the drama club participants have been practicing, making costumes and props for several weeks. The program is open to the public.

Lewiston proposals before Greenway Commission

The Town of Lewiston Town Board lent its approval last month to three projects aimed at enhancing the Niagara River Greenway corridor. Now under consideration before the Niagara River Greenway Commission is a $500,000 proposal to fund three projects: an ice rink in Academy Park, Artpark event programming and Lewiston Council on the Arts event programming.

On Saturday, July 23, the Niagara River Anglers Association held its annual Lower Niagara Bass Contest with Brendan Walsh, Niagara Falls, taking top honors with his two-fish total weight of 9.32 pounds. His largest weighed in at 4.74 pounds, and that was good enough to get the big fish of the day Lunker Award, topping all others.

Ceretto 'electrified' by new Power NY Law

Assemblyman John Ceretto, R-I-Lewiston, today released the following statement regarding the signing of the utilities-reform measure Power NY into law by Gov. Andrew Cuomo. Ceretto, who helped pass the Assembly version of the legislation, noted that the bill is designed to increase New York's power production and lower consumer energy costs.
