USA Network has announced the pickup of two original scripted series, "A Legal Mind" and "Necessary Roughness," as it expands on the "Characters Welcome" brand and increases its programming slate to a record number of scripted originals for the network. Lewiston Police K-9 Radar and handler LPD Officer Scott Stafford visited and demonstrated the techniques they use to find drugs, track individuals and protect officers.

In the end, the Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours controversy boiled down to one thing and one thing only: a roughly 2,580-square-foot expansion. Despite the objections Monday night of a handful of people who claimed the tourism business is a bad neighbor, the Village of Lewiston Board of Trustees said the only issue members were interested in was the $1 million, two-story addition proposal that sat before them. Finding nothing wrong with the plan, the board approved it by a 4-0 measure.

Assemblyman John Ceretto, R, I, 138th District, Lewiston, this week joined several Assembly and Senate colleagues in announcing new legislation that will make it a crime for any elected official to knowingly destroy "open" constituent case files. The legislation, which carries penalties of up to one year in jail and a $25,000 fine, intends to prevent outgoing legislators from destroying existing constituent case files of new members.
