LPHS students compete at Tech Wars

Grand Island High School was the overall winner of the 2011 Tech Wars competition held on Wednesday, Jan. 12, at Niagara County Community College. The Vikings won for the second consecutive year with 49 points, finishing ahead of 2009 champion Lockport, which had 27 final points. Tonawanda City and Williamsville tied for third place with 22 points.
Niagara County IDA: New corrugated box facility eyed for Lewiston

The Niagara County Industrial Development Agency announced this week it has accepted applications for assistance from Hamilton, Ontario-based HT Production for a proposed corrugated box manufacturing facility in Lewiston, Wheatfield Family Density for the construction for a new dental office, as well as the construction of a new medical practice building in the Town of Newfane. The projects total more than $2 million in investment in Niagara County and the creation of 20 full time jobs and nine part-time positions.
Edward Town presents 'Annie'

The Village of Lewiston Planning Board will have two Whirlpool Jet Boat Tours expansion designs to consider when it meets Monday at 6:30 p.m. in the Red Brick Municipal Building. WJBT President John Kinney, upon consultation with Silvestri Architects, commissioned a second plan that shows 10 feet shaved off the north side of his proposed development.
