Local jazz trumpeter Lew Custode will once again donate his talents to help raise funds for this year's Salvation Army Christmas Fund Drive. Custode, best known for his work with the Barroom Buzzards and The Custode & Parisi Jazz Trio, will perform holiday music at various Salvation Army kettle stand locations throughout Niagara County.

The Old Fort Niagara Association, the not-for-profit organization charged with preserving and maintaining Old Fort Niagara's buildings and programs, launched its 2010 annual fund, titled "Call to Arms," earlier this week. The goal is to raise $120,000 in community support by Dec. 31 to underwrite educational programming and assistance with much-needed preservation projects.
