NYS: Suspension of construction-related lane closures for July 4 holiday

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced temporary lane closures for road and bridge construction projects on New York state highways will be suspended from 6 a.m. Saturday, July 1, to 6 a.m. Wednesday, July 5, to ease travel throughout the July 4 holiday weekend.

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced 20-year-old Vincent Manirakiza of Buffalo pleaded guilty yesterday afternoon before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case to one count of manslaughter in the second degree (class "C" violent felony). The defendant pleaded guilty to the charge under the theory of accomplice liability for his role in a homicide that occurred last year.
