Student persuades NCCC administration to adopt composting program

During the spring 2022 semester, several NCCC students from professor Marc Pietrzykowski's writing for STEM class completed a group research project about waste management at NCCC. Inspired, one of the group members, Meredith Preve, lifted the words from their paper and molded them into a new, hands-on project at the college.

Women United of Greater Niagara's baby supply drive is ongoing. Donations of baby bottles, bottle brushes, wipes, diapers, pacifiers, lotion, baby cereal, baby food, formula (Enfamil) and new baby clothes can be dropped off at the United Way of Greater Niagara office, located at 6420 Inducon Drive West, Suite B2, throughout the month.

The Greater Niagara Frontier Council, Boy Scouts of America, based in Buffalo, and the Iroquois Trail Council, Boy Scouts of America, based in Oakfield, announced that they will merge as of May 1 to form the new Western New York Scout Council Inc., Boy Scouts of America.

Jury finds Buffalo man guilty for murdering victim during robbery outside of gas station in city's Delavan-Grider neighborhood

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced a jury has found 28-year-old Daiquin Gray of Buffalo guilty of one count of murder in the second degree (class "A-I" felony), one count of robbery in the first degree (class "B" violent felony), and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree (class "C" violent felony). Jurors rendered their decision this afternoon after approximately two hours of deliberation following a four-day trial.
