The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is delaying the effective date of the final rule to reclassify the northern long-eared bat from threatened to endangered under the Endangered Species Act. The agency is extending the effective date by 60 days, from Jan. 30 to March 31, 2023.

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) will host a public information meeting from 4-6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31. The session pertains to a proposed intersection improvement project scheduled to begin in spring 2024 on state Route 104 (Ridge Road), at state Route 93 (Townline Road) - commonly referred to as Warrens Corners - in the towns of Lockport and Cambria.

Coinciding with the launch of their U.S. summer tour, Dave Matthews Band will release "Walk Around The Moon" - their 10th studio album and the follow-up to their chart-topping 2018 album, "Come Tomorrow" - on May 19. The Erie County Fair has issued a call for submissions for the inaugural commemorative poster art competition, welcoming artists (ages 18-plus) from across Western New York to submit their vision of the annual event. The chosen design will be the artwork for the 2023 commemorative Erie County Fair poster. The final piece will be unveiled to coincide with the Erie County Fair, which is running Aug. 9-20.

Out of that and other writing camps, the Women Who Worship movement was birthed.
