Bobby Flay has signed a new multiyear exclusive deal with Discovery's Food Network, it was announced by Courtney White, president of Food Network and streaming food content for Discovery Inc. The new deal spans three years and includes development of new content for Food Network as well as for elsewhere within the Discovery portfolio.

William Bond House becomes the setting for "Winterfest Evening." The first brick house built in Lockport (circa 1823), the Bond House will be decorated for the holidays in 19th Century fashion.

DiNapoli has released a report tracking New York's local demographic changes based on 2020 census data; and an interactive online map that breaks down population statistics by age, race and ethnicity, along with housing trends, in New York's cities, counties, towns and villages. DiNapoli's report provides a snapshot of New York state's population, which totaled more than 20.2 million in 2020, up 4.1% since 2010.

New York Farm Bureau's 2021 market basket survey shows the price of a traditional Thanksgiving dinner saw a modest uptick from last year's meal. The average total price, which includes a 16-pound turkey and other common items found on a holiday dinner table, is $52.59, a 1.7% increase over last year.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced New York has secured $2 million in federal funding through the Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant program to aid addiction service providers in the fight against the opioid crisis. The funding will be used to establish mobile medication units (MMUs) to dispense medications to treat substance use disorder, including methadone and buprenorphine.

Gov. Kathy Hochul, at a breakfast hosted by the Association for a Better New York, announced a State University of New York and City University of New York program called the Nurses For Our Future Scholarship that will cover tuition for 1,000 new health care workers to get RNs at SUNY and CUNY. The program comes in an effort to help address the shortage in health care and lack of workers in hospitals around the state.

Family Promise of WNY (FPWNY), an emergency family homeless shelter, is "desperate" for community support in securing a van to transport the children and parents it serves. Two weeks ago, the FPWNY 12-passenger van was in a serious accident. The van has been deemed a total loss by an insurance company.
