Higgins encourages students to participate in Congressional App Challenge

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Monday night signed an executive order to alleviate potential staffing shortages in hospitals and other health care facilities statewide. Her team said, "The executive order significantly expands the eligible health care workforce and allows additional health care workers to administer COVID-19 testing and vaccinations."

Special Olympics NY opens student registration for first 'Cool School Polar Plunge' in Buffalo

Special Olympics New York has opened student registration for its first "Cool School Polar Plunge," an entire day dedicated to Western New York students who commit to raising funds for local Special Olympics athletes by plunging into the cold water at Woodlawn Beach State Park on Friday, Dec. 3. First Student will award $1,000 scholarships to the top male and female fundraisers, who will also be crowned "king and queen" at the event.

The Grand Ole Opry, the world's longest-running radio show, announced Grand Ole Opry members Garth Brooks, Dustin Lynch, Darius Rucker and Trisha Yearwood will join the star-studded lineup for its historic 5,000th Saturday night broadcast on Oct. 30. Previously announced performers include Bill Anderson, Terri Clark, Vince Gill, Chris Janson, Jeannie Seely, Connie Smith, The Gatlin Brothers and Chris Young.

Integrity Music's and Running Club Records' Citizens has reimagined their GMA Dove-nominated album, "The Joy of Being," as a live recorded album with today's release, "The Joy of Being Together."
