The Erie County Fair continues its partnership with the Can Bottle Return Co. of Hamburg to collect and recycle the returnable cans, bottles and glasses used at the annual event. The items were collected on a daily basis at the Erie County Fair from the designated containers placed around the grounds totaling 45,000 items.

The Great Pumpkin Farm in Clarence will kick off its 26th annual Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to dusk Saturday and Sunday with a special Armed Forces Weekend in collaboration with Clarence Citizens for Veterans. The regular admission fee will be waived for active duty and retired military, police or fire department personnel who present proper identification to WNY Heroes representatives at the gate; they will also be permitted to bring one guest for free.

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced "significant progress" in providing pandemic relief to impacted New Yorkers through the Emergency Rental Assistance Program and the Excluded Workers Program. The amount of pandemic-related emergency rental assistance paid out has nearly doubled in the past three weeks - growing to $399 million - enabling tenants at risk for eviction to stay in their homes and helping struggling landlords to recoup unpaid rent.

The Buffalo Olmsted Conservancy announced the grand staircase restoration project at Hoyt Lake in Delaware Park. The project aims to finish its capital fundraising and to begin preparatory site work in fall 2021. As the nation prepares to celebrate the 200th birth year of Frederick Law Olmsted, a ribbon-cutting is expected in late 2022 to unveil the new staircase.

On the closing night of the 63rd annual Niagara County Peach Festival, the Lewiston Kiwanis Club presented a check in the amount of $4,000 to the John R. Oishei Children's Hospital. The organization, on Sunday, also presented a check for $883.80 to Lewiston No. 1 Fire Co. This money will be used to purchase an additional automated external defibrillator for response vehicles.

She received her crown from Victoria Skrlin-Kozak, who took the title in 2019. The scholarship pageant did not take place in 2020, due to coronavirus safety restrictions.
