"Gospel Song," the new EP from Rhett Walker, released today, courtesy of Provident Label Group/Sony Music. The latest project from the Grammy and multi-GMA Dove Awards-nominated southern rocker and songwriter, features five songs - the title track plus "Revival," "Let's Go Down," "All Joy No Stress" (which was co-written with Matthew West) and "Alright," featuring country star Jimmie Allen - who also co-wrote the tune with Walker.

All women involved in the campaign were invited to the pop-up exhibit of portraits from each women's session - and to toast each other in support of one another.
Erie County DA issues warning on possession of fake vaccination cards

Erie County District Attorney John Flynn warns anyone who is knowingly in possession of a falsified COVID-19 vaccine card - and presents that forged document with the intent to deceive another of their vaccination status - can be charged with a felony offense. This alert comes as some local colleges and universities require students to provide proof of vaccination in order return to on-campus residency and in-person learning.

New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Commissioner Richard A. Ball announced the winners of the 2021 dairy products competition in celebration of Dairy Day at The Great New York State Fair. Twelve cheese manufacturers were awarded this year, including Old Chatham Creamery, from Tompkins County, which earned the Grand Champion award for its camembert cheese. Upstate Farms was honored with gold for the state's top-scoring milk, with Stewart's earning silver.

Kathy Hochul on Thursday announced the groundbreaking for Angela's House, a $22.8 million development that will transform a long-dormant wing of the historic Villa Maria Academy into affordable housing in the Town of Cheektowaga. Funded in part by $3.6 million from the state's Homeless Housing and Assistance Program, the project will redevelop the former all-girls high school into 67 affordable apartments, including 21 supportive units that will serve adults over the age of 55 who are grappling with housing insecurity.

Gov. Kathy Hochul on Tuesday announced a series of changes to both attract more applications and accelerate payments within New York state's Emergency Rental Assistance Program. Under the governor's direction, the state will invest an additional $1 million in marketing and outreach efforts to raise awareness about the rent relief program, the available funding, and the strong tenant eviction protections in place for those who apply.
Spectrum Health marks International Overdose Awareness Day

Spectrum Health and Human Services says, "The statistics are startling. Here in Erie County, there was a 57% increase in confirmed opioid-related overdose deaths from 2019 to 2020. Nationally, there was a 30% increase. The trajectory for 2021 is not any better: As of July 14, there were 85 confirmed opioid-related deaths, and as many as 75 more once full toxicology reports are reviewed. While tragic, death from overdose is also preventable with education and intervention."
