Gov. Andrew Cuomo on Thursday announced 106,017 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine were administered in New York in 24 hours. As of 11 a.m., New York's health care distribution sites have received 2,002,055 first doses and already administered 89% (1,787,189) first-dose vaccinations and 81% of first and second doses. The week 9 allocation from the federal government continues being delivered to providers for administration.

Catholic Health has contracted to purchase 104 acres of land in Lockport, which will be the site of the new Lockport Memorial Campus of Mount St. Mary's Hospital. The multiple parcels, located off South Transit Road between Shimer and Ruhlmann roads, are currently under environmental and zoning review. Access to the hospital campus will be off Shimer Road near Transit.

Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the start of construction on a $17 million affordable housing development that will offer 46 affordable homes for seniors in Buffalo. Known as La Plaza de Virginia, the development will also include a community senior service center and café.

According to statistics from the Federal Trade Commission, overall losses in this kind of scam are about $200 million a year.
