Last week, Deposits for Food (D4F) presented checks to Heart, Love & Soul and Community Missions totaling $2,000. The funds were obtained from the collection of returnable containers and scrap metal over the past few weeks. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, on average, there are about 200 decorating-related injuries each day during the holiday season, with about half of the incidents involving falls. In the 2018 holiday season, about 17,500 people were treated in emergency rooms due to holiday decorating-related injuries.

Higgins announces approval of bill providing sweeping improvements to veteran services

Congressman Brian Higgins (NY-26) announced approval of legislation providing multiple improvements to veteran services. The legislation, a Senate amendment to H.R. 7105, contains a measure that will provide permanent authorization for Kids Korner at the Buffalo VA, which Higgins has repeatedly fought for.
