During Sepsis Awareness Month, the New York State Office for the Aging (NYSOFA) and New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) warn New Yorkers of all ages about the risks of sepsis, a severe and life-threatening, but often preventable, condition. While anyone can develop sepsis, older adults are among those at highest risk.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Buffalo District, completed a remedial investigation (RI) report and proposed plan (PP) for Niagara Falls Storage Site (NFSS) vicinity property H prime (VP-H'). A public comment period for the proposed plan will take place from Sept. 15 to Nov. 13, 2025. A public meeting is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 15, at the Town of Lewiston Senior Center at 4361 Lower River Road. A court reporter will be present to record public testimony.
