Congressman Brian Higgins announced residents can now check the status of direct payments provided through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. On Wednesday, the U.S. Treasury announced the launch of the "Get My Payment" app, which allows Americans to track the status of their emergency relief funding and add bank direct deposit information if the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) doesn't already have it on file.

Andrew Cuomo, two of New York's top young basketball coaches have launched a historic partnership between the state's 44 men's and women's NCAA Division I basketball head coaches who have come together to form "Team New York." The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today is granting public housing authorities (PHA), Indian tribes and tribally designated housing entities (TDHEs) waiver authorities and ultimate flexibilities so agency staff can focus on assisting their tenants and properties during the COVID-19 pandemic. HUD's Office of Public and Indian Housing provides housing assistance to approximately 3.5 million families across the country.

Erie County Executive Mark C. Poloncarz on Tuesday issued a local emergency order closing all campgrounds, as defined by 10 NYCRR 7-3.1, which require a permit to operate under the New York state sanitary code. The order also prohibits the use, at any campground within Erie County, of any camping cabin, camping unit, campsite, or seasonal campsite as defined by 10 NYCRR 7-3.1, by any individual at any time.

Beginning this week, Tops will be rolling out additional safety measures at all of its 162 stores in New York, Pennsylvania and Vermont. Those safety measures include providing all of its associates with American-made cloth face masks to ensure their associates health and well-being while serving the community as essential workers. The 2020 NFL Draft will be presented across ABC, ESPN and NFL Network, April 23-25 - the second straight year that The Walt Disney Company has worked with the National Football League to offer a multi-network presentation for all seven rounds. ESPN and NFL Network will combine to offer a singular presentation across both networks, while ABC will present its own distinctive, primetime telecasts for rounds 1-3, in addition to simulcasting the ESPN and NFL Network telecast of rounds 4-7. The 2020 NFL Draft on ABC will air Thursday, April 23 (8 p.m. EDT), and Friday, April 24 (7 p.m.), live coast to coast.

Acting Niagara County Sheriff Michael J. Filicetti, along with Niagara County law enforcement partners, report drug overdose cases have increased during the course of the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of drug overdose cases dispatched by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office from Jan. 1 through April 6 has increased over 35% for the same time frame in 2019.

On Easter Sunday, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo returned ventilators to the Pathways Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center in Niskayuna. Pathways Nursing home made an unsolicited contribution of these lifesaving machines to New York state as part of the ongoing efforts against COVID-19. The governor also delivered cookies baked by his daughters for staff and nursing home residents.
